Auto-Graphics’ SHAREit™ Selected by Access PA and Health Sciences Libraries Consortium (HSLC)
ONTARIO, Calif. — April 23, 2015 — Auto-Graphics, Inc., a leading provider of tools, technologies, and software developed to power libraries, and HSLC, on behalf of the Pennsylvania Office of Commonwealth Libraries, proudly announce the selection of Auto-Graphics’ SHAREit™, as the statewide resource sharing system.
After a competitive RFP process including resource sharing and interlibrary loan vendors throughout the nation, Auto-Graphics was selected by HSLC to provide the next Interlibrary loan platform for Access PA, one of the oldest ILL implementations in North America. Auto-Graphics’ SHAREit was selected because it meets the needs indicated to HSLC by the Pennsylvania librarians. In switching to the SHAREit ILL platform, HSLC’s objectives for Access PA will be upgraded with a more modern and feature-rich interface for end users with greater search functionality, a more flexible and efficient ILL system, and an increasingly accurate and authoritative union database – significantly enhancing statewide ILL services. Auto-Graphics has adapted the latest software, database, and industry standards to provide HSLC with the most current and leading edge platform available including:
- Diversity with over 2500 Public, Academic, School, and Special libraries participating
- Stand-alone OPAC and ILL for Pennsylvania’s correctional institutions
- Seamless integration with one of the most evolved and long-standing statewide ILLs in the nation
“HSLC is excited to be working with Auto-Graphics on behalf of the residents and library staff throughout Pennsylvania,” noted HSLC Executive Director, Maryam Phillips. Phillips continued, “Auto-Graphics has been in business since 1950 and has a proven track record with large-scale statewide ILL. We are proud to be working with a vendor who can assist HSLC with improving statewide library services with such an exciting product and in a cost-effective manner.” HSLC and Auto-Graphics are already working on a phased implementation schedule that will train librarians and migrate participating libraries by December 31, 2015.
“Auto-Graphics has a successful history working with the Pennsylvania library community providing authentication and access control via on-demand E-card registration for the POWER Library e-resources, a service within Pennsylvania’s Electronic Library. We are pleased to further extend the relationship with Access PA with the implementation of SHAREit. Our newest delivery of SHAREit will undeniably benefit patrons when it comes to discovering and accessing new content.” said Albert Flores, Vice President of Sales. “Further, it is exciting for A-G to know that one of the country’s largest ILL systems has selected our product because of our ability to grow with them in the future.”
