On-Premise implementation uses the conventional approach in which the software license is purchased and then the web application is installed at your library’s site, on your computers, in your data center and with your IT resources managing it.
This license is provided as a one-time fee with monthly maintenance. With a license, as new versions of the software are made available, IT staff have the task of not only updating their data center, but also pushing the new version out to all library work stations. This was the traditional way of selling integrated library systems.
On-Premise is right for your library if you...
- Want to keep control of your library’s data on-site
- Have in-house IT resources
- Want to do extensive customization in-house
- Have special security or control issues
